Details Magazine has announced what they consider to be the Top 5 Beer Friendly Cities in America. And listed among the heavyweights is Asheville. They said:

Home to more microbreweries per capita (one per every 8,000 people) than any other city in the country, this lively mountain town is considered by many to be the emerging microbrew capital of the east.

Breweries mentioned were Wicked Weed, Highland, and Burial.

Aloft Hotel was mentioned as the "place to stay":

The newest hotel in the heart of the city is just minutes away from some of the best craft breweries in town. The rooms are minimal and sleek, decorated with works by local artists. Ask for a room with a stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. At night, head downstairs for a nightcap at the hotel's WXYZ Bar, a local hot spot known for exclusively offering local beer on tap, in addition to a wide variety of bottled craft beers.

Also making the list; Grand Rapids, MI, Denver, CO, Cooperstown, NY, and Portland, OR.
