The number one leisure activity for Americans is television. We watch hours every night, learning more about our favorite shows and characters than some of our friends and family. And when something tragic happens to an actor we've come to know and enjoy, it affects us.

My wife and I don't get to spend a lot of time together. She works second shift at the hospital, and I have my extracurricular jobs with the Asheville Tourists and UNC Asheville basketball. So our quality time is limited. We don't watch much television together. She has some shows that she watches without me, and vice versa. (Thank heavens for the DVR!). We have just a handful of shows we both like and enjoy watching those together when time permits. I can count those shows on one hand; CSI: Las Vegas, Psych, Unforgettable, and Rizzoli & Isles, come to mind.

One of the first things I read this morning was the possible suicide of Lee Thompson Young, the 29-year old actor that played Jane Rizzoli's partner, Barry Frost, on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles. He was found dead in his apartment of an apparent self-inflected gunshot wound.

From 1998-2001, Young starred in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson, and also had roles in Smallville and Scrubs.

I really don't look forward to passing along this news to my wife.

TNT has suspended filming of Rizzoli & Isles until further notice.
