We're a bit spoiled here in Asheville, with amazing restaurants seemingly around every corner. And Asheville has ranked near or at the top of the list of many national publications for culinary excellence. And then there's the beer scene, which is top shelf. Our pint glass runneth over.

But where does the STATE rank, when compared to the others? Not even top ten.

According to thrillist.com, North Carolina places 11th. They say:

Asheville is cool. It has more breweries per capita than any city in the US. Plus your barbecue -- be it Lexington or Eastern-style -- is all equally delicious. Krispy Kreme was founded in Winston-Salem. So was -- weirdly enough -- Texas Pete’s. And Cheerwine is a thing you wish you invented. Just imagine if you could eat tobacco!

So, the Western part of the state is pulling its weight, but the rest? Get it together, guys.
