Spartan Race; Team Rock 105.1 Conquers Concord

Team Rock 105.1 traveled to Concord, NC, Saturday, for the Spartan Sprint, and we couldn't have asked for better racing conditions. It was sunny and 63 as we headed to the starting line for our 2pm wave.

All but Kevin are fellow members of Summit CrossFit with me.

As opposed to some previous years, which were windy and cold, the sun was shining, and the guns were on full display. Located just outside Charlotte, the site of the race is a family farm most of the time. But when Spring rolls around, it transforms into a Spartan Sprint course, approximately 5 miles of rolling hills, woods, and mud. Lots and lots of mud. Tackle the terrain, and about 25 obstacles, and you earn the right to call yourself a Spartan.

For me, this was my first of six races this year, as I attempt a Double-Trifecta, which is two of each of the three levels of races; Sprint, Super, and Beast. Last year I completed a Trifecta(one of each), and wanted to take it to the next level in 2017. And with the help of my teammates and the great coaches at Summit CrossFit, I have no doubt I'll be able to achieve my goals.

Next stop, Fort Knox, KY, for another Sprint, on July 22nd, followed by some home cooking and the Asheville Super the following weekend. AROO!
