KISS Will Perform For Australia's Sharks Despite Paul Stanley's Absence

Cage Diving With Great White Sharks In South Africa

Kiss fans in Australia disappointed at the recent news that the band cancelled its tour of their country might be a little annoyed with today's news.

Despite canceling on the human residents of an entire continent due to Paul Stanley's throat infection, Kiss will still travel (sans Stanley) to the Australian Marine Conservation Society on Nov. 18 for a scheduled performance aboard a glass-bottomed boat for great white sharks in the nearby ocean.

A handful of attendees will study the sharks' response to the music. Since sharks apparently love the low-frequency rumble of hard rock, it'll presumably make a great photo op for the "hottest band in the world."

AirBnB is sponsoring the once-in-a-lifetime affair.

"For the main event, you'll head out to the deep waters of the Indian Ocean — one of the biggest feeding grounds for great whites," reads the event description. "As Kiss rocks out above water, you'll also get to see what's down under it. Watch from a glass bottom boat as the music attracts the legendary band's biggest (underwater) fans. Kiss has played plenty of wild shows in the past, but this one will top them all."

The performance for the sharks will be a rare occasion in which Kiss performs as a trio. The first time, according to Ultimate Classic Rock, was in the '80s when Ace Frehley missed a radio event.

The other two times have been due to medical conditions affecting Stanley. Bassist Gene Simmons has adroitly stepped into the frontman role both times.
