A confusing moment during Green Day's Saviors Tour stop in Detroit this week saw the band being rushed off stage mid-performance after a drone was spotted over the crowd and posed a "potential safety issue."

The legendary rock band was about 15 minutes into their concert at Comerica Park in Detroit on Wednesday (September 4) when they suddenly left the stage, leaving fans to continue singing along to "Longview," per Billboard. While no explanation was immediately given — the video screen later displaying the message "Show Pause. Please standby for details — it was determined that an unauthorized drone was seen near the stage.

Fortunately, it didn't end up being the boulevard of broken dreams for fans as the pause didn't last too long, with Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt returning to the stage about 10 minutes later to finish out the show.

"We're gonna pick up where we left off," Armstrong told the crowd, later adding, "Ain't no motherf----- that's gonna stop us, I'll you that."

Green Day shared a statement about the brief pause in the show, apologizing for the delay while revealing that security for the venue had concerns over the band's safety.

"Stadium security had us clear the stage while they dealt with a potential safety issue," the message read. "DPD quickly resolved the situation, and we were able to continue. Thanks for understanding."

According to ClickOnDetroit, the Detroit Police Department said an individual outside Comerica Park flew a drone into the venue and was detained for further investigation.
